There’s something strange about *celebrating* the fact that we got it together enough to fix our roads and bridges. Shouldn’t that be something that in an advanced civilization you do repeatedly and like clockwork - the way they feed the war machine?

Just watched a video on Sweden, Norway, and Finland. Think I'll be visiting soon. US can do SO much BETTER.

Why do you think the Military's decision is never fight a war in this country? The roads and bridges would collapse.

Probably the only reason they got around to it was that they realized they wouldn't be able to feed the war-machine any longer if our infrastructure went kerplooey.

Something an advanced civilization would do is focus on high-speed rail, EVs and smart grids. I think I’m describing China.

The celebration recognizes that vast sectors of infrastructure that have been allowed to deteriorate over these many decades are going to be rebuilt. Of course, rebuilding things once every century is not a good way to run a society.

Weapons manufacturing = quick bucks, much of it illicit. Roads and bridges require businesses and workers to toil over many, years. Liz Cheney? Mama Lynn was on Lockheed's board of directors, $120,000-a-year position, which she had no background for. Cheney = War Profiteer!
