There’s something strange about *celebrating* the fact that we got it together enough to fix our roads and bridges. Shouldn’t that be something that in an advanced civilization you do repeatedly and like clockwork - the way they feed the war machine?

Yes, and it is privatized so the majority of the work will never happen. At least 40% of the money will go to administrative costs.

All we need to do is take money from the pentagon and these tax talks are not even needed

The stock market is going up so that is the most of what they care about. Secondarily I have heard rumors of privitization which makes corporate America's heart go pity pat!

A couple roads and a couple bridges, along with another tax break for the rich.

So far all that's happened is a bill was passed. It remains to be seen if roads and bridges will be "fixed." Journalists need to follow the money to see where it will actually go. My bet, a good portion of it will end up in the pockets of investors.

Our country doesn't practice any sort of genuine progressivism. It's really just a catchphrase. 😔

Yes. But we do not live in an "Advanced Civilization".

Yes. Yes it should. We shouldn’t celebrate what should be the natural flow of society.

I really admire your optimism. I won’t believe we fixed our roads & bridges until they’re actually fixed.

We should definitely be doing it without privatization, which is a term literally coined to describe fascism.
