There’s something strange about *celebrating* the fact that we got it together enough to fix our roads and bridges. Shouldn’t that be something that in an advanced civilization you do repeatedly and like clockwork - the way they feed the war machine?

Not only enriching the defense contractors but also our own representatives who without question vote for these bloated budgets in the name of forwarding US corporate interests around the globe. We have to realize that when our govt passes these budgets it’s too enrich themselves

when you're attending a party it is bad manners to piss in the punch bowl. when you view it in context and realize how fractured we have become (and remain) witnessing a commitment to collaborate on a bipartisan bill is worthy of recognition. lighten up and enjoy the win.

Exactly. I do not celebrate or give accolades to ppl for doing things that are their responsibility and that are right. When u go above & beyond, then u deserve a pat on the back.

1.2 trillion over 10 years seems like a pittance. During that time frame we will spend 8 to 10 trillion on the military. Totally insane.

I don’t think the US qualifies as an “advanced” civilization at all. We still don’t have universal healthcare.
