College degrees are not what they once were in the private sector workforce, they don't carry the same weight. Reorienting high school grads into trade schools - where tuition is paid for, skills are learned, and they are paid to work - is a much preferable path for many (@IBEW).

Higher education generally, university or technical college, is an investment in people and the country. It generates huge returns and "pays for itself" many times iver thru innovation, invention, creation, economic growth. You either believe that or you don't.

This. We're falling so far behind. DK also gives a stipend to high school students, to immigrants even. My american kid attended an arts HS in Copenhagen for a while & received free transit + several hundred USD worth of kroner to exist & learn. Imagine how our kids would thrive
