We’re like a ship sinking w/ 80 holes at the bottom & they're thinking plugging 36 of them is enough. We've been neglecting the needs of so many people - and the planet - for so many years, that the need to even begin to level the playing field is enormous.mariannewilliamson.substack.…

It’s a start and it beats nothing.

It's true that it beats nothing, but I'm not so sure about "it's a start." That's what they always say. *Later* we'll deal with raising the minimum wage. *Later* we'll deal with the college loan debt, etc. It's just a game they play; "crumbs for the people" has been normalized.

Exactly. There is no later. After reconciliation there will only be bills Republicans support (military spending, tax cuts for the rich, corporate bailouts), followed by losses in the midterms, a lame duck Democratic President, and then the Republicans in power.

Certainly the path at the moment, unfortunately.

It's not even a start. It's a pathetic homage to Joe Manchin and will never be more than evidence of his gross insensitivity to the working class. I pray that something good comes out of this.
Ben Rhodes,a seasoned Politician said,Two seats in the Senate mattered by allowing this much progress to be made,HOWEVER,we need more elected Senators to get MORE DONE.So continue to elect more Dems/progressives and we can make GREATER CHANGE!
