Zuckerburg changing FB to Meta & saying they're going to be concentrating on virtual reality is not good news. It could be a fast track to the worst things possible. Anyone will be able to create holograms of the prez talking, for instance, but you won't really know if it's her.

To follow up since some seem to think it's funny. What Meta can create will be millions of times more powerful than games on instagram, phone pics or any holograms that now exist. With Zuck's $ and heft this will create something that can be weaponized against the world. Not funny

Yikes. Too out there for the "real world" no matter what. So do people "meta" each other? I'm out.

Or worse, they'll insist you have an hologram of your self registered and if you wanna be any place "in-person" then you got to pay otherwise the hologram will represent you. Suddenly only the rich can physically socially interact.

Are we on the verge of being plugged into the matrix? How horrifying. I daren't look further into this.

Very sad news indeed. Let's prioritize and focus on solutions to the actual problems our world is facing and let's concretize them instead of complexing the world even more with a virtual (= non) reality!

ENOUGH with the fear-mongering. YES, bad things could happen or.... something AMAZING could come out of it. Let's stop running for the Titanic, shall we?? Not all #progress is negative. Serious lack of consciousness @marwilliamson
