Zuckerburg changing FB to Meta & saying they're going to be concentrating on virtual reality is not good news. It could be a fast track to the worst things possible. Anyone will be able to create holograms of the prez talking, for instance, but you won't really know if it's her.

To follow up since some seem to think it's funny. What Meta can create will be millions of times more powerful than games on instagram, phone pics or any holograms that now exist. With Zuck's $ and heft this will create something that can be weaponized against the world. Not funny

your heart is in the right place but you’re a little wrong on this one. that won’t be coming from the metaverse—although it may make its way into it eventually—it is already happening outside of it. VR doesn’t implicitly have anything to do with deepfaking of audio and video

Nothing like how it will be happening with this.

Good. People shouldn't trust any politicians.

Don't worry, any imitation would be an improvement.

Millions of people already use VR and love it and have fun, or learn using it. Anybody could have done what Facebook is doing with it, which is great, but…nobody else did 🤷🏻‍♂️
