I've lost hope that those in charge will ever do the right thing... It's obvious how much they hate the poor and they'll do anything to keep us poor and scrambling for a dignified life.

I don't think it's about hating the poor; it's about feeling no sense of ethical responsibility one way or the other for the poor, which is colder and almost worse. It's a sociopathic phenomenon that results from an amoral economic system. Amoral systems lead to immoral results.

No, it’s just a mentality that it’s not their job to take care of people. I’d imagine most of the billionaires in question weren’t just handed their fortunes, so they know from firsthand experience that people have the ability to create and earn for themselves.
