No, this is not normal. Yes, it is aberrational. No, we should not just shrug our shoulders and go "Oh well."
In case you missed it, the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans now own a record-breaking one-third of all shares of stock, and the richest 10 percent own almost 90 percent of all shares. Never in the history of this country has corporate wealth been more concentrated.

It’s very easy to make rich people poor. It’s almost impossible to make the poor richer. Every attempt to do so leads to dystopia

It's not of all stocks. It's of stocks held in brokerage accounts. Pension plans serving most Americans own a ton of stocks, probably more than 50% which are not included in these numbers. Where's the twitter fact checkers? not holding my breath.

What has happened to this country ... there used to be laws and regulations ... now companies can get as large as they want obliterating their competition ... and 10% of the people now own 90% of all the stock ... This should be ILLEGAL!

I don't care (that much) that they have it. What pisses me off is they accumulated it through monopolies, oligopolies, exploitation of workers and consumers and tax loopholes and evasion.
