Saying we shouldn’t cancel the college loan debt because it would be unfair to the people who already paid theirs, is like saying we shouldn’t legalize marijuana because it would be unfair to the people who served prison time for it. It’s ridiculous.

Before any talk of cancelling loans should even be considered, we need to fix the system responsible for this. Quit giving unemployed 18-year olds virtually unlimited loans and universities virtually unlimited tuition fees.

Should one go to jail for selling or binging weed to a preschooler?

No one has served recently any prison time for simple possession only.

@POTUS #CancelStudentDebt & back a stand alone bill to guarantee all public ed is debt free. Ed & medical debt are choices made by government. What kind of shithole country has this & outspends ever other country on war with a $770 billion ANNUAL budget!?

What about the people in the future? Doesn’t it also penalize private borrowers? Is there a tax bill waiting for those who are forgiven? Should there be a cap on the forgiveness?

The argument is we shouldn't steal from one group to pay the debts of another. The morality isn't with the people that already paid, but with the ones you are stealing from.

I disagree with the analogy. People have purchased a service knowing the price. I have a mortgage. Cancel that.
