Saying we shouldn’t cancel the college loan debt because it would be unfair to the people who already paid theirs, is like saying we shouldn’t legalize marijuana because it would be unfair to the people who served prison time for it. It’s ridiculous.

“How much of a reduction and for people that would want their student loan debt eliminated, who exactly?” “Everybody and all of it. Let me tell you why…” Marianne Williamson

Refinancing the loans at 1% (only through local credit unions) and passing Medicare for All would be a nice compromise.

Give middle class people who already paid their loans tax credits.

Instead of canceling the debt and paying for it with taxes, The gov should sue colleges and universities for overcharging and under delivering and use that money to forgive debt.

What about for those people who decided not to go to college because they couldn’t afford it? Not fair for them either. And what of future college attendance, do we wipe out all tuition going forward? We simply can’t continue printing money like it’s nothing.

Serious question. If this administration does cancel college loan debt, will I receive a check for the money I paid paying my college loan?

Your rational is totally irrational, WTF?
The real problem us needed to pay stupid $$ amounts to go to college in the first place. It’s overrated. U can learn a lot on the internet now. Whether it’s taking classes or just researching urself.

You're the best Marianne, but you are wrong here. It's moral hazard, people need to take responsibility for their actions. You need to make decisions based on personal circumstances. Go to a community college, get a part time job, borrow money from a relative.....ridiculous

A handout for the 33% of the population who enjoy greater access to jobs, and higher paying jobs at that, is literally obscene. But the democrats are looking at the fact that college educated are more likely to vote, and that’s what’s driving this policy proposal. Cash for votes.
