Saying we shouldn’t cancel the college loan debt because it would be unfair to the people who already paid theirs, is like saying we shouldn’t legalize marijuana because it would be unfair to the people who served prison time for it. It’s ridiculous.

From a friend who has a Bachelors, Masters, & PHD in History + a JD. “Higher education is nothing but a giant RICO. You can’t get a high paying job without going into perpetual debt & they’re by and large, useless in the real world.” We don’t need to finance this fleecing.

The most ridiculous part of cancelling the debt is that once cancelled, the system continues accumulating the debt again the very next day.
It’s not ridiculous. But it’s better than continuing to be unfair

Socialism for the bourgeoisie, killer capitalism for the poor.

True, but why aren't all the people serving time for cannabis being freed? That's really not fair at all.

Consistency is the enemy of progress. "We've always done it this way." speaks to the fear of the unknown when we break tradition and try something new. And we do fail sometimes, but we would never have gotten out of the trees without defying tradition.
