Saying we shouldn’t cancel the college loan debt because it would be unfair to the people who already paid theirs, is like saying we shouldn’t legalize marijuana because it would be unfair to the people who served prison time for it. It’s ridiculous.

Young people should not have Social Security or Medicare because people who were alive in 1926 didn't have it, and that's not fair, godammit!

Pretty convincing except one requires me to fork over money while the other saves me money from avoiding mass incarceration. Pele got into those debts on their own. I support free college going forward but I'm not paying for some hipsters liberal arts degree.

There should literally be reparations for those whose have served time for marijuana possession..

Why not end predatory lending and high tuition instead of taxing the tax payers again? Put the burden on the institutions fleecing people, NOT burden the PEOPLE.

We can cancel it anytime we like, no permission required. #DirectDemocracy #GiftEconomy

gotta admit, this is the best version of this comparison I've heard

Totally different. And by the way I know so many parents who’ve taken loans only bc they now hope them to be forgiven. They can afford the costs but will now roll the dice in hopes of one day being free. That’s entirely differently than righting a wrong (pot legalization).
How about just stop charging interest!

Then lets pay ppl for the debt they're in from unfairly served prison sentences. Why not Income/Location based loan cancelations, and college grants when we all know . . . The Prison System is Racist. The Loan System is Racist. The Education System is Racist. #Reparations
