That’s like saying that if we legalize marijuana and release people in prison who are serving time for petty marijuana offenses, that’s punishing everyone who already did. It’s ridiculous. We should always be happy for people who don’t have to suffer as we once did.

Wrong. Pay off my mortgage, car too. Why stop at student loan. Somebody went without to pay their debt. Those that knowingly took out loans and got conned by the “you need college to make money” need to pay their loans back.

Really, the people it punishes are those of us who went into the workforce after High School instead of going to college. We have neither the benefit of college, nor the benefit of debt forgiveness, and most of us aren’t in a place where we could start working on a degree.
