The idea that using taxpayer money to support people in living lives of the greatest creativity and productivity means supporting an entitlement mentality among the poor, is an expression of the most outrageous entitlement mentality among the rich and powerful that I can imagine.

No, what’s worse is well-meaning, patronizing people assuming I’ve never read Stephanie Kelton’s book and that I’m too unaware to understand MMT:)

Great. Thanks for that. The next step is to figure out how to remove the term "taxpayer money" when talking about Federal spending. Although it does still apply at the city, and US state level.
