The idea that using taxpayer money to support people in living lives of the greatest creativity and productivity means supporting an entitlement mentality among the poor, is an expression of the most outrageous entitlement mentality among the rich and powerful that I can imagine.

Ms. Williamson, all altruism aside, what you are suggesting is prelude to communism. Which comes at a price - loss of personal freedom. Reality is a zero sum game.

Quite the opposite. Using taxpayer money to support the quality of life for one’s citizens is not a prelude to communism, but withholding such support is a prelude to fascism.

You cannot further brotherhood of men by inciting class hatred, but, you can and should try to lift all boats.

It’s not inciting class hatred to point out that our economic system is rigged.

And worse, well meaning people like you perpetuate the idea that we depend on the rich with the "myth of the taxpayer dollars". Please #discoverMMT so we can destroy the myth that we depend on rich people to fund the Federal Government.

No, what’s worse is well-meaning, patronizing people assuming I’ve never read Stephanie Kelton’s book and that I’m too unaware to understand MMT:)

Or you could learn basic economics. Man acts in his perceived self interest in accordance with his time preference. Giving money to people outside of voluntary exchange causes unproductive behavior.

That is not basic economics, it is soulless nonsense posing as economic theory. Every human being is born with a God-given desire to create. Check your theory against any Montessori kindergarten.

entitlement to think you should be able to keep the money you've earned. but not entitlement to think people should get money they did not earn. This is the backwards mentality, words mean nothing when you say that. Sure there are legitimate places for govt to step in, but man
