The real dichotomy now is not between left and right; that’s sort of a smokescreen. The real dichotomy is between corporate and non-corporate. It’s not really a duopoly so much as a monopoly of corporate power with two wings.

It is in the US. The difference between the US and the EU? There is no Citizens United law in EU nations. There are bans on or limits to private and 3rd-party political funding and spending, and negative ads. There are Fairness Doctrines on TV in campaigns. There are >2 parties.

corporate feudalism. we already see that in the US we must pay fealty to the corporations if we want any basic necessities, such as health care. the corporations have more power than most governments. i shudder to think where this path leads in 50 years.

Hmm I don’t agree with that. Corporations are neither good nor bad. It’s just a business format. A majority of us work for and benefit from them. The problem is with the eternal growth and scarcity-based economic model. Change the system and solve the problems.

Yes. Who could’ve imagined that laws allowing people to avoid personal accountability by the fiction of treating their business assets as a separate person would encourage them to act shamelessly? Imagine if we let people make their robots liable for carrying out their orders.
