There is also the point that power corrupts, even folks that don't accept corporate donations are guilty of making decisions to get along, to protect their career, and their assigned committees. The dichotomy is between serving self, and selfless service.

It is the partnership where gov force working hand in hand with corporate resources you have to be wary of. Without legal use of force corporations are weak. Without corporate resources gov can't oppress.
