I checked the Constitution and couldn’t find anything about political parties, 2 or otherwise.

Replying to @AndrewYang
Not only does the Constitution not mention political parties; both Washington and Adams specifically warned us against them.

You both are speaking absolute logic. The problem is that we live in a time where the identity of so many is wrapped up in political affiliations. It even shapes their view of others. Thank you for getting off of the ride. I’ve jumped off as well. Couldn’t be happier.

Our nation has a problem. Our need for a sense of community and belonging has made us more tribal in our politics. Being Independent isn’t easy but it feels good to not belong to a team or have to explain the actions of politicians who don’t have your best interests at heart

Yup. The very idea of a political parties is so unamerican to me. Also, it was the local newspapers at the time that called John Adams and his supporters "Federalists", and Thomas Jefferson and his supporters "Republicans" They both never referred to themselves this way.

Adams, the guy who passed the Alien and Sedition Acts which outlawed criticism of the government, is really who you wanna look to when designing a political system?

weird that they negotiated a Constitution that did absolutely nothing to prevent their formation, then

Marianne, please consider this idea: “FreeFloater—At-Large Representatives” which can be signed onto regardless of the region you live in...to send to Washington based on mutual assent, consideration, offer, and acceptance.

Both were wrong. It’s simply impossible to have a democracy without a multiparty system
