“We built a state but we could not forge a nation”- DOD Sec.Austin today. It’s such a lie. We didn’t “build a state:” we built & enabled a corrupt government. And we didn’t have to“forge a nation;” Afghanistan has been a nation for 1,000s of years! American arrogance is so toxic.

The education system here is problematic. Americans barely know American hx much less geography n world hx skimpy as taught focuses on western countries. Americans think their 245 yrs of hx is more important than those of empires/regions lasting thousands of yrs. 1/2

The more I listened to your views, the more I think it really should have been a two way race between you and Bernie for president.

The stated intent was hunting down and removing OBL. Where does building a state or forging a nation play into that intent? Congress abandoned their Constitutional war powers immediately after WWII. They’ll never regain them, not that they want them. They are cowards.

They won’t learn from their mistakes. The corporate corruption that pervades our political system won’t allow it. Which means it won’t be the last time we go down this road (how many times since WWII now?) It’s really up to actual people - voters - to demand change

And we learned that we were repeatedly lied to by our government for 16 days in August before we murdered seven children, three innocent adults, and then fled the country without all of our people.
