Our national security does not rise is direct proportion to how much money we spend on the DOD. Far from it.

Well that’s not entirely true, but it’s definitely not a 1:1 ratio so I agree. that’s not what i meant to imply. My point is that just because you’re at peace, you don’t slash defense spending. Peace (unfortunately) is temporary.
