We can’t have environmental protection because of profits for fossil fuel companies; we can’t have universal healthcare because of profits for health ins. companies; we can’t have a more peaceful world because of profits for defense contractors. So at what point is enough enough?

But the nation as a whole, the communal life we all share, gets a pittance of the corporate profits because polititions & wealthy corporate owners provide taxpaying jobs for the non-wealthy while chiseling down their own taxes or not paying at all. But jobs are not Life.

Enough has been enough for a very long time, Marianne, but if you think our politicians, 99 percent of whom are owned by these big businesses, will change anything on their own, think again. Matter of fact, I'm willing to bet they'll use violence on us to avoid changing things.
