Not only should insulin be affordable (or free), but food products filled with chemicals that we know cause diabetes should be heavily regulated. Our food system is as corrupt as our healthcare system.

Heavily taxing something like sugar which causes so many problems (cancer, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, obesity etc etc) would be easier & more effective than more regulations.

Food education and less big pharma influence would also be helpful. Things like cooking courses, general food education, doctors that discuss lifestyle before handing out meds.

There is reason why so many American food products are banned in Europe. It is because their version of the FDA actually cares more about its people, and will not allow chemicals, sugars and processed foods that cause disease and death be sold to 100s of millions of consumers.

Affordable? Remove government from the medical industry altogether aside from tort. Free? Read some economics.
