Not only should insulin be affordable (or free), but food products filled with chemicals that we know cause diabetes should be heavily regulated. Our food system is as corrupt as our healthcare system.

It is just as corrupt bc both are currently operating under a capitalism in which the only goal is profit, so companies will cut corners to make more of it.

I think it's fair to treat them as inextricable (i.e. the American Heart Association bolstering dairy- via factory dairy industry lobbyists- for decades, though empirical data shoots down most myths they've conjured up about cow's milk benefitting the heart).

People can choose what they eat. They cannot choose their hospital when they need emergency care. This is a false dichotomy. Both systems are deeply rotted, and comparing healthcare systemic failures to food supply chains softens and neutralizes the criticisms of the former.
