Republicans have the elitist policies but ironically a more egalitarian relationship to its own constituency. Democrats have more egalitarian policies but an oddly more elitist relationship to its constituency.

When I speak with Ds about their political leaders they seem to view them in away that is paternal. R. Nader pointed this out. Most Rs I speak to view them as dogs in need of a good kicking. D leaders do not expect to be challenged by their faithful the way Rs do.

Yeah, R politicians tend to pretend more to be down-home & folksy than Ds do. But the fact that R politicians constantly lie to their constituents in this era of Trump reveals their real feelings for their constituents: contempt.
