One reason the debacle in Afghanistan happened is because reporters took what WH & Pentagon told them & never really asked questions, dug deep, researched & investigated. And they’re doing it now! They just take their word for things. “Here’s today’s report on how great we are.”

The debacle was going there in the first place. As always, those who lent their full-throated support for a predictably pointless war will not be held accountable.

Too many journalists practice stenography for the establishment, which reduces them and their publications to both swords (to attack critics) and shields (to avoid critique). We’ve encountered more than our share.

That's so much of the political system. It's run by very rich folks for the benefit of even richer folks. US wars are fought as an excuse to extract trillions from tax payers & line the pockets of the ruling class. They don't care if they win, it's just for profit... & it shows.

Walter Cronkite ruined it for all of us. There was a time when news was reported and conjecture was left to the viewer. Now people are being force fed conjecture believing it’s news by MSM.
