I don't get the purpose of this comic book history of empires, brutal and brutalizing, in victory or so-called defeat... What's the lesson? Hubris is bad? Don't believe official propaganda? Military leaders lie? Even big armies can't occupy hostile land forever? I don't get it!

I agree completely. There is a lesson to be learned, and we must learn it. I hope politicians agree, even those with Stock on Defense Contractors, who btw, I don't think many everyday People, or soldiers, do.
