I didn’t follow politics for a long time because it just made me angry. When I started paying attention again I was very much in the “we need to find a path forward together” camp. Things like this make me think I was just being naive. These people will ruin us.
Never has there been a nation where the middle and working classes are their own worst enemies. It is not ideology. It is superstition. You know, the kind that burned witches.
My understanding is that at the current reimbursement rate, the school district would actually make money by giving all students a free lunch. Dumb on top of cruel. No child should go hungry.
