Many years ago, probably the late 80s early 90s, I was walking down Central Park South in New York City and he was walking towards me. I felt like I was seeing a giant, his presence was so awesome. In a world of such falsity he was so real.

Charlie Watts drummer for the Rolling Stones. In 1962 Watts first met Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, In 1963 Watts joined the Rolling Stones. The Daily Telegraph named him one of the World's Best Dressed Men. In 2006, Vanity Fair elected Watts into the Best Dressed Hall of Fame.

I had this when I first met a real Zen teacher and I use the term to acknowledge that the quality that struck me about such individuals was their almost hyper reality. There was a sense of something vast about them, yet ordinary. 'Extra ordinary.' So thank you for the reminder.
