"Culture" has 2 solve problems that policy can't approach (at least in a Constitutional Republic). Marianne's cultural critique was interesting but she had to revert to tired policy tropes b/c the challenge is post-political (?) . We're going to have to be our own heroes.

My point wasn't that those things don't have value but that they will carry true weight when we each live those values at the forefront of our lives. Something like, strong culture should make policy less necessary? It's hard to shove this stuff into Tweets. :-)

As long as your democracy is working, cultural change translates naturally into political change. But when a democracy is broken and govt is basically owned buy corporate overlords, cultural change has limited effects.
