“I remember Afghanistan as a dusty beige nightmare of a place full of proud, brave people who did not fucking want us there. We called them Hajjis and worse and they were better than we were, braver & stronger & smarter.” My conversation with @LauraJedeed. youtube.com/qjUkRTRX_EI

I'm Afghan American. Please @marwilliamson share the truth -- debunk the myths that AFG has "always been warlike and misogynist" and that religion is the problem -- it's not religion, it's distortions of militant psychos. See this article ! theatlantic.com/photo/2013/0…

Thank You, Marianne! We need to hear from them. They deserve to be heard. We deserve to know the truth. The military industry must end —NOW—destroying our planet. #endthewarondrugs #colombia

I have a friend who was an MP in Afghanistan, also at Guantanamo. She was assigned to guard the poppy fields that are the major funding source for the Black Operations of the CIA. We went to Afghanistan because the Taliban destroyed those poppy fields, no other reason.

Every empire, nation or coalition that has tried to occupy, control, or change how Afghanistan actually functions on it's local and national level has failed to do that. The question for me is why so many external powers seem unable to learn from this history.
