I understand those who think we should have left. I also understand some of those who think we should’ve stayed. What I cannot comprehend is anyone minimizing or glossing over the abject terror of 20 million women.

The point of US military occupations is to open markets for global capital, steal natural resources, create geopolitical positioning for global dominance, obstruct/destroy socialist movements (ie. self-determination), and boost arms industry profits...

I’m not really understanding this take? What would you have us do? Stay there forever? Eventually we had to leave and we shouldn’t have even been there in the first place.

American policy has never prioritized women and I suspect that the gains made by Afghan women during the AM occupation, were despite of policy and not due to it.

If the politicians & the Pentagon knew it's history, from the outset their ultimate realistic goal would have been 2 establish & maintain a northern & southern Afghanistan. 2 different countries. Easily takes 1/2 to 1/3 the resources we've used. Establish a U.N. city in US half?

Well what do you suggest? This falls into 2 parts: 1) What should have been done? 2) What do we do now?
