I understand those who think we should have left. I also understand some of those who think we should’ve stayed. What I cannot comprehend is anyone minimizing or glossing over the abject terror of 20 million women.

This is a mischaracterization. I don’t see anyone denying that this is a tragedy. Some people believe that staying or going back in would merely allow for this to continue indefinitely. Humanitarians need military protection. They get attacked - we have a brand new excuse.
