Not minimizing that but am totally minimizing any notion that more US military intervention would help or that the plight of Afghani women is worse than the plight of Saudi women or many other women in US allied countries. Or the Kurdish Syrian women we turned the Turks loose on.

It's reasonable to argue that the fate of afghan women would be way more positive if the US hadn't poured billion$ to prop up the mujahideen & creating the Taliban in the 80s. Glossing over who's responsable for that terror doesn't help either.
