Yes, to some extent they did. But I also think anyone who thinks our leaving Afghanistan is some huge blow to the military industrial complex is naive. It was $43B out of a $780B budget; they won't be shaving $43B off now that the war in Afghanistan is over.

There is less justification for it if we end one of the wars. It's a step in the right direction.

Leaving Afghanistan is not a “blow” to the MIC unless we the American people realize that these wars in our name benefit no one but the MIC and then demand change. Yes, help people we have brought harm to, but let’s stop the next war before it starts. A new direction is needed.
