Tolerance of systemic violence against women can’t be justified in the name of anti-imperialism, helping other human beings isn’t “a savior complex,” and leaving the most powerless & desperate people to fend for themselves in the hour of their agony isn’t political sophistication

The military industrial complex spent nearly $100 billion, and 20 years, training the Afghan government forces. They're falling in less than a month. It is the height of privilege to watch what's happening unfold and think anything other than "they never wanted us there".

Nearly 250,000 civilians have been killed in the US invasion and occupation of Afghanistan. How many more civilians have to be mass-murdered before feminism is achieved there?

And now 20 million women and girls will live in terror, plus who knows how many people will be killed. Does that even things out for you? Standing up for women isn't a joke, even if it is for you. I'm not even saying we should have stayed - it's complicated - but give me a break.
