We should help the people of Afghanistan. We should help the women of Afghanistan. But the U.S. government (and military) is not a good faith actor on the world stage. Don't let the U.S. government use humanitarian concern as a blank check to continue dominating the world.
I agree with you on most things, but continued occupation is definitely not one of them. Some of our allies in Afghanistan kept child sex slaves and our soldiers were told by the Afghanistan officials to look the other way. We've never made good choices there.
