No “easy exit?” Thousands more people could have been rescued. People who helped us, who worked with us. Women who will be massacred. This isn’t just about “whether” you go; it’s about “how” you go. I’m not embarrassed to refuse to go to along with the popular groupthink on this.

You’re assuming the weak rhetorical argument for our continued presence there since circa 2003/2004 is still legitimate enough to continue our occupation? If so, couldn’t we use this same argument to intervene in countless other countries?

Absolutely not. And I’m not even making an argument for staying. I’m talking about the failure of our strategy while we were there and the irresponsibility of the way in which we exited.
