Boy howdy am I having a lot of feelings about Afghanistan today I deployed there twice--once in 2008 and once in 2009-10 It was already obvious that the Taliban would sweep through the very instant we left And here we are today

What really pisses me off is the people over there that helped the military, interpreters, that wanted to come over here. Haven't been brought yet and now are probably gone. They should of been brought as soon as we decided to finally leave.

That would have caused a greater divide in this country than we have now. Can you imagine the blowback from the anti-immigration gang if this were done with forethought? We needed to see this. We needed to see the desperation or we never would had been okay with taking them in.

This is obviously the only myopic view Americans keep harping on. Thankfully as an Afghan as well I have context from the other side. How many of those same people sold out their own Afghan people for a buck - taking part in the American Military Industrial Complex for their gain
