Tell me again how this woman’s suffering doesn’t matter.
Incredibly powerful interview with @sahraakarimi in Afghanistan this morning on @BBCRadioScot - I've taken this excerpt below because it is so brutally honest and from the heart, but please do go listen to the whole thing. @Fionasstalker

Tell me again why you aren’t advocating war with Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Russia, to end their mistreatment of women.

She's right ... IT'S NOT FAIR ... the US allowed these women and girls to come out of their homes ... go to school ... ware western clothes ... and enter and plan to enter college and the professions ... YOU CAN'T JUST LEAVE THEM ... to be at the mercy of the Taliban!

I must have missed the "bombing your way to feminism" seminar.

What about the ones who have been killed in the decades long war staged by the US. Do their lives matter?

I wonder whether this interview was arranged by Hill & Knowlton, the PR firm famous for their "incubator babies" propaganda that GHW Bush used to convince Americans we needed to get Saddam out of Kuwait and save those poor babies!!! That was Gulf War #1

No one told you once to tell you *again*
It matters, it's heartbreaking. Truth be told "Life isn't fair" I wish we could have true peace on earth. Suffering takes place everyday. My heart aches for all human suffering

Until we learn to care enough about & protect women here we're unlikely to be really moved by their treatment elsewhere Dave.barstool.com As a society we need to condemn & even ostracize these people & those who support/enable them

This framing is in itself a fallacy. This isn't an either or situation. 1 can oppose military actions & care about ALL the people we bomb, invade, occupy et al. We should have never been there in the 1st place. Adding troops & bombs isn't gonna improve anyone's life.

It does, that's why we want the American terrorism machine to stop causing war and destruction leading to this crap.
