I understand the argument that 20 yrs was enough & it was time to leave Afghanistan. That's the president's call. But the exit should have been done with far more care & w/ far more safety provided for those who had helped us. @POTUS can still make this right and he must #ACTNOW!

Not recognizing the weakness of the leadership & security forces resolve to protect the Afghans seems inexplicable to us, given the blood, time & money we invested in a favorable outcome. I find it hard to blame our leadership for this, however. Who knew?

I have a "socialist" thought. Biden said that we never went to Afghanistan to do nation building. I wonder that if we had, we could have left a decade earlier and the Taliban would have been kept at bay. But of course, where would be the cruelty?
