Try looking up pictures of Afghanistan before dirty US fingers got involved. We helped get them in this situation. And it was never the US's plan to get them back where they were.

but think about this, if staying for 20 years did and then leaving meant the Taliban could take over in just two weeks, what were those 20 years even for. Lot of women will suffer but just how long would the US need to stay there for a different result?

With respect, if the people preferred the current government to the taliban then at least some of the troops would be fighting. None are, Kandahar is surrounded and may fall this weekend. Afghans are not willing to sacrifice to keep a bunch of thieving crime lords in power
