Seems disingenuous to be all twisted in a knot about finally exiting a no-win part of the earth destined to be ruled and oppressed by religious zealots for all eternity. Especially while remaining silent about the despot in Syria who has been brutally killing innocents daily.

We essentially created a codependent welfare state making the people dependent on us to protect them from the Taliban while we took resources. We didn’t help them to be self sufficient &stronger against the Taliban! We had 20 years. I pray for the people and hope they can fight!

The Taliban will take care of the tyranny over there while Joe terrorizes us here. They got it all covered.

My heart breaks for the women and girls in Afghanistan. Of course I don’t have any answers except let the women emigrate to Europe or US if they want… leave the men to play jihad by themselves, see how long they last…

What’s really important is the original decision to enter an imperialistic “relationship” to begin with, since leaving is NEVER going to be pretty. There is no easy way out, no matter what Bill Kristol and his ilk have to say about it.
