20 years, thousands dead, almost $1T spent & the Taliban is able to overrun the country in a matter of weeks. Women will be as endangered there now as they were before 911. This is a major catastrophe. There must be another way. theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv…

You voted for Biden, a classic neocon when you could have voted for Jorgensen who’s wanted the troops home for decades.

Do you know how much damage US imperialism does to women? 37 million ppl displaced and 335,000 civilians killed in the Middle East by US since 9/11. Military industrial complex is also terrible for climate of planet. Do better watson.brown.edu/costsofwar/…

Do we we should continue to spend money and lives on a lost cause? Sunk cost fallacy anyone? Just bring the troops home already.

When did our country building ever go well? Oh, that's right - it went well for the military industrial cartel, suffering of the populace be damned. The US has blood on it's hands all over the world, but the rich got richer.

The company that I trained was capable of independent operations, the Battalion (Kandak) was pretty good, but the Brigade (General Officer level) was a corrupt shit-show that was enriching itself by selling its supplies. They had 20 years to dig in like a tick and chose greed.

And just think, the Taliban was our creation. And I thought President Carter was a good guy. scheerpost.com/2021/07/26/he…

This is what happens when the original invasion and subsequent occupation was based on lies, naive assumptions and shameless corruption. Its only intent was to keep the MIC in business. There was a humanitarian aspect for sure, but it was no match for the power of the MIC.

Way past time for all of us to get up to speed on how we got there in the first place! Watch this excellent summary of the lies told about what we witnessed and the damage this cognitive dissonance has done to our public psyche: youtube.com/watch?v=0aXVzLMV…

#CognitiveDissonance has sadly been the American way for most of 2 decades. Since we saw two sturdy buildings - 3, really - collapse into their own footprints. It's what's allowed our country to get so far off track, and what we need an #Awakening from. benthamopen.com/ABSTRACT/TOC…

The Warlords are the ones that beat and drove out the Taliban the first time ... Instead of one Huge Centralized Army ... some say ... We should have had smaller units each under a different Warlord ... loyal to that Warlord ... and fighting like Afgans ... Not like Americans!
