20 years, thousands dead, almost $1T spent & the Taliban is able to overrun the country in a matter of weeks. Women will be as endangered there now as they were before 911. This is a major catastrophe. There must be another way. theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv…

We spent 20 years destabilizing the country making conditions worse. The best thing we can do now is stop making matters worse

The war on terror was never about fixing problems. Fixing problems doesn't create passive income.

Massive failure. What a horrible waste. For what? Defense contractors to get hideously wealthy?

Gee its almost as if the decision to invade another country for any reason short of stopping genocide is wrong or something.

We can’t fix other people, and we don’t do a good job on ourselves. We need to get out and stop trying to force the outcome we want and think we’re entitled to. Afghans need to decide what they want and achieve it for themselves, we’re only hindering that by pushing our agenda.

All these... But what about the... Is how the US ended up staying there for 20 years. Another 50 years will not solve anything either. Those people could be offered asylum with the money saved and integrated as new US citizens if they so wish.

$ 1 T spent and nothing accomplished besides word lords getting rich and the exploitation of minerals should tell you that the whole thing is a sham, it has nothing to do with no ones rights. How can you fall for that "bringing democracy" "protect women" over and over again.

Remember when the US funded the mujaheddin and created Al Qaeda to push out a bordering nation that was attempting to modernize it to serve as a buffer state for between them and our Brzezinskian machinations in the region? All for Poppy!
