Vietnam, Iraq, now Afghanistan. Tragedies beyond comprehension, all of them moral & military failures. Yet we continue to elect the same breed of people & acquiesce to what is now over $750B/yr in military spending. Let’s stop the false respect for all the warmongers in our midst

Diplomatic failures should also feature in your criticism. The military follows orders. Those orders include war when diplomacy has failed.

I’ve met and talked with many returned from Afghanistan…some coping well with strong support networks. Most of them though are suffering. The damage done is real and deep
