The media has manipulated the political narrative to cast those who simply want as many people as possible to be able to live dignified lives as wide-eyed radicals, and those who are unmoved by the rapid disintegration of both our democracy and planet as sober-thinking moderates.

Throw in cynical @YouTube commentators and podcasters "Outside the Lamestream Media" who really are only in it for the ad revenue and sponsorship money and things are looking pretty bleak.

I agree with identifying the false narrative, but let's not lump all "the media" together. By and large, professional journalists, when given the opportunity to perform legit journalism, are doing vital work. Trust and verify, and support responsible media.

To be wide-eyed and radical is to see the original things (radical: radix, or root), but it’s the positioning of resignation and apathy as sober that I find most chilling about the media
