The media has manipulated the political narrative to cast those who simply want as many people as possible to be able to live dignified lives as wide-eyed radicals, and those who are unmoved by the rapid disintegration of both our democracy and planet as sober-thinking moderates.

Media has become entertainment. You have corporate media who's goal is making profit. Alternative (independent) media is everywhere and is heavily opinionated and often full of misinformation. I remember when "it's not official unless it's on Facebook" was a thing to say.

Because the same billionaires who own the broken US political system also own its media, and the media just say whatever their owners want. We won't have any real change to help most Americans until we have a new political system. D/Rs only care about the money that feeds them.
