If we DO stop fossil fuel production now, HOW will our grandchildren be able to live? Fossil fuels are more than high-density energy for our modern world. Plastics, lubricants, coatings, pharma are just some examples of petroleum derivatives. They want mud huts with no windows.
If we don’t stop fossil fuel production NOW, where will our grandchildren be able to live? Just asking.

I vehemently disagree, but there's the bigger question: how do you propose to replace the giant gap in materials (i.e. plastics by which you just typed your response) without petroleum products? How will you build your "green energy" collection devices? You can't.

I know what many *think* we are facing, but the data do not support global climate catastrophe. Some will point to the record heat experienced this year, but I would point to 1934 and 1936 as worse. One heat wave does not climate change make. Others would point to ...

... "worsening" storms (i.e. hurricanes) but this too isn't borne out by observation. My major point is that our modern life and the life the green movement would like to build is impossible without petroleum products, both as energy sources and as raw materials for devices ...

We don’t have a choice, we have lots of choices. Couple that with the reality that we a exponentially cleaner society today than in the 40s 50s 60s and 70s but somehow it’s getting exponentially worse? Haven’t seen smog in LA in decades.
