You would think all the narcissists and megalomaniacs of business and politics would want humanity to survive to remember their grand achievements. Every athlete with their name on a trophy need people to remember their feats. Otherwise it was all for naught.

Never mind one's grandchildren. The planet is heating at a geometric rate, and likely be uninhabitable sooner that you may think. If life is to exist, the days will have to be shortened.

look around your room and there are likely 50 or more items that are petroleum-based. we should make a transition but doing so requires a detailed plan for developing substitutes for those 50 items, retraining our workforce, establishing a supply chain. not like hitting a switch.
